Rooted to a Revered Landscape

Gary Andrus founded Pine Ridge Vineyards in 1978. Awestruck by the unspoiled landscape and potential for world-class viticulture, Andrus planted Cabrernet Sauvignon in a rugged stretch of what is now the Stags Leap District. He sensed excellence here, convinced this was where the famous varietal could achieve that enrapturing balance between power and elegance.

Today, we continue to realize this vision through Cabernet worthy of the Napa Valley name as well as varietal-designate wines that showcase the many distinctive sub-appellations of the region. Pine Ridge oversees estate vineyards in five prime appellations, including Stags Leap District, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros. Our team embodies Andrus’ intrepid spirit and continues to craft wines that boldy speak to their surroundings.

“Everything about our sites is unique, from the farming and the terraces to the soil types and geography. All these physical variations add up, making for something extraordinary individual in every bottle.”

Harvest happens once a year but winemaking is a year-round labor of love. Our driven and experienced team relies on special attention to details along the entirety of the arc, from farming individual vineyard rows to conjuring up harmonious blends. The end result is terroir-focused wine that honors both its unique appellation and varietal makeup. With countless growing seasons under its collective belt, the Pine Ridge team is tightly knit and counts its keen familiarity with estate vines.

Stewards of Sustainability

At its core, sustainability is about working in tandem with the environment, ensuring that both the land and fruit will continue to thrive for generations to come. It’s a formula that not only respects the natural landscape and vital biodiversity at hand, but yields the most vibrant wines. We’re proud of our Napa Green certification and count on our in-house Green Team to continue to evolve our approaches — in the vineyard, winery, tasting room, and beyond — so that our future place in this remarkable environment is secure and symbiotic.
