Highly Rated: 2022 Stags Leap District Receives a Pair of 90+ Point Scores

The 2022 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon is a selection of grapes from all four of our estate vineyards, spanning 47 planted acres. This wine beautifully showcases the complex terroir and exquisite balance achieved by blending fruit grown in these diverse soils, ranging from well-draining rock and sand to clay loam.  The Stags Leap Palisades help warm the region during the day, while in the evening, cool breezes from the San Pablo Bay bring a dramatic temperature shift. These conditions create distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon wines of depth and concentration, marked by a signature balance of power and elegance.

Founded in 1978, Pine Ridge Vineyards played a pivotal role in establishing the Stags Leap District as a distinct American Viticultural Area (AVA) within Napa Valley. This AVA was the first to be defined by its unique soil diversity and is renowned for producing powerfully structured wines with supple, refined tannins. With our latest vintage, we continue to solidify our place in the Stags Leap District and among Napa Valley’s finest wines.

97 Points – Tasting Panel Magazine

“Energetic and earth-laden, with suede tannins that carry weight. The mouth is lathered with mulberry, sweet earth, spearmint, graphite, and cherrywood-cedar. Its broad shoulders are balanced on a balanced, fresh acidity, with a refined finish of violets and black plum compote.”  – Meridith May

92 points – The Wine Advocate

“Scents of cherry and raspberry mark the nose, joined by hints of soft leather or suede. It’s full-bodied and ripe but with a bit more acid and tannin than the Napa Valley bottling. Nicely structured, finishing tart and silky, it should drink well for at least a decade.” – Joe Czerwinski
